I'm Sophie, a York-based, UK-qualified Maths teacher with 6+ years of teaching experience.

I started my Maths journey from the small island of Guernsey, UK. Growing up, I had the most influential Maths teacher, which led me to pursue a career teaching Maths.

I pride myself on being a positive role model to students, removing the stigma attached to Maths and making it fun and accessible to all.

Why adaptive learning works

Most students do not struggle because they are not revising enough.

They struggle because they are spending time on the wrong things.

Maths with Sophie identifies the topics, skills and question types that are costing marks, then builds a personalised learning path focused on the areas most likely to improve results.

Instead of guessing what to revise next, students always know where to focus their time.

How it helps improve grades

  • Identify hidden gaps: A diagnostic assessment reveals the topics and question styles that are holding a student back, even when they are not obvious.
  • Focus on high-impact topics: Not all mistakes matter equally. Learning is prioritised around the gaps most likely to increase marks and improve grades.
  • Adapt as you improve: As confidence and performance increase, revision recommendations change too, so students keep spending time where it matters most.
  • Build confidence before exams: Students can see their progress, understand their weaknesses and approach exams with a clear plan.

Who it is for

  • Students aiming to improve their GCSE Maths grade without wasting time on unfocused revision.
  • Parents who want to understand where their child is struggling and how they can make meaningful progress.
  • Students preparing for mocks, GCSEs, IGCSEs and resits.
