MY STORY

Why I do this

I have taught Maths in a state secondary school in York and at an international school in Bangkok. Different students, different curricula, but the same problem kept coming up: capable students convinced they were just bad at Maths.

Most of the time, they were not. They just did not know which topic was pulling their grade down, so they were revising everything and still not seeing progress.

That is why I now focus on clear grades, topic breakdowns and practical next steps. Students should know where they stand, what is getting in the way, and what to do next.

When I’m not doing Maths

I live in York with my husband, our young son, and our cavapoo. Most of my time is spent with family, whether that’s days out, walks with the dog, working in the garden, or finding an excuse for a good coffee. Life is busy, often a little chaotic, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
